- 2 1/2 cup Ketchup
- 1 medium Vidalia Onion
- 1 TBS Olive Oil
- 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/2 cup Bourbon
- 3/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 2 TBS Molasses
- 2 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 TBS Hot Sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp Kosher Salt
- 1/2 tsp Ground Pepper
Instructions
- Finely chop the onion and add to oil in a skillet over medium heat. Stir until brown.
- Combine onion and all ingredients in a medium sized saucepan. Whisk well to combine.
- Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a rapid simmer. Reduce heat to maintain a gentle simmer. Cook, whisking occasionally, until the sauce is glossy and thickened, about 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Taste and adjust for seasoning with salt and pepper.
